Now in its third year, the Caribou County Flyers Summer Track Team is currently accepting registrations for the feeder program that has boasted both state and national qualifiers as well as giving a taste of what track and field is all about to countless youngsters seeking to learn how to better jump, throw or run.
Led by local track coaches Sally Jensen and Jeremy Smith, and utilizing a mix of adults and experienced youth volunteers, the program seeks to educate both parents and athletes on the finer points of track and field, offering athletes from ages 8 to 18 the chance to learn how to better compete in a variety of standard track and field events.
As a sponsored USA Track & Field team, club members are given advanced training in a safe and fun environment for three weeks of instruction held at alternating locations (Soda Springs and Grace high schools) beginning on May 28 and continuing until the USATF State Meet June 14-15.
Two local summer track meets as well as a team uniform are included for club members.
Parents wishing for more information are encouraged to contact Jensen at 801-874-9271.
